(SACD-HYBRID) When winter gives way to spring, something stirs at the very foundations of the Swedish soul. The cultivation of an old but vigorous tradition reaches it's climax every year in Stockholm on April 30th when the Stockholm Academic Male Chorus greets spring in the Skansen open-air museum. On this day, like on no other occasion, the audience expects to hear these spring songs as their composers originally intended: performed by a male chorus. This SACD captures some of the most loved male chorus songs generally performed during this season.
