Wingdale Community Singers

The Wingdale Community Singers are David Grubbs (who played in Gastr del Sol, the Red Krayola, Bastro, and Squirrel Bait and has appeared on records by Will Oldham, Matmos, Tony Conrad, the Dirty Three, and Royal Trux), Hannah Marcus (who's most recent record Desert Farmers was recorded with members of the band Godspeed You Black Emperor!), and Rick Moody (bestselling author of the novels Purple America and the Ice Storm). Together these three Brooklynites grow an organic album that speaks mostly about urban things - rats feature in a number of the compositions, for some reason, as does bike repair, duct tape, the dyed daisies of NYC flower stalls and transvestites.
