Considered one of the most powerful promotion and marketing persons in the music business, Wally Roker represented more than 10 major record companies and most of the top labels in the world, specializing in R&B. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, Roker operated his own boutique record labels: Canyon Records, Roker Records and the affiliated imprints RRG Records, Maple Records and Black Fox. Presented here is a unique overview of the impressive output from these small labels which included music from some iconic artists such as soul singers Doris Duke, Chuck Carbo, Irma Thomas; jazz and R&B vocalist Gloria Lynne; jazz saxophonist Stanley Turrentine; Swamp Dogg protégé Raw Spitt, The Whispers, Jean Wells, King Errisson and more. All selections have been newly remastered.
