The poems lead the reader to a haven of understanding, but they also justify feeling misunderstood. The poems emphasize that failing to fit the societal or expected molds of life and cultural constructs is not criminal. The anthology further explores the themes of love lost, found and forgotten. Essentially, this work encourages the reader to feel, to meddle in the emotions of which many are afraid, find uncomfortable, or the emotions many are told to dismiss. It gives space to being sad, anxious, and heartbroken and relabels these experiences into something human and allowed.
