Everyone's heard the advice to study hard in high school. Take a standardized test revealing how to match your strengths with a future career. Pick the college that is known for raising up the very best in that chosen field. Graduate and get a job. That's how to make it. That's how to succeed in life.

Maybe not! Millions of people do no such thing. They're bored in public schools, or higher education is not affordable or accessible. Guess they're doomed.

On the contrary, there's another story to be told, another path to take. Plenty of people support their families, live a full life, find contentment and success without following that common wisdom. These people are trailblazers, opportunity-makers, everyday people with entrepreneurial mindsets. Women and men who don't accept a prescribed approach. Instead, they follow an internal compass that, in spite of twists, turns, and even road blocks, leads them through an entirely different sequence of choices.

Collins and Clark, experienced researchers, set out to learn how these people found their way, what drove them to keep going despite being advised differently. If you are someone whose journey resembles the folks above, this book delivers inspiration from thirteen transformational perspectives. If you are a parent, friend, or guidance counselor for someone driven to march to their own drum, Unlikely to Unstoppable provides the encouragement needed to persevere. Humorous, poignant, even startling firsthand stories from individuals who have "made it" build a platform for meaningful conversation and contemplation. These "everyday entrepreneurs" demonstrate the way to develop the unstoppable mindset that helped them keep moving, one way or another.

Collins, Jennifer: - Jennifer Collins began writing novels in 2020, after retiring from a long career in physical therapy and higher education. Her debut novel, Comfort in the Wings, and its sequels, Wonders in the Waves, and Bridges Between Our Hearts comprise the Love That Does Not Die Trilogy. These emotionally satisfying books tell the story of Larissa and her family navigating the joys and tragedies of life. Collins then turned her efforts, with the help of a long-time colleague, to non-fiction, chronicling stories of people who have discovered rewarding life paths in spite of predictions they would do otherwise. Unlikely to Unstoppable weaves these inspiring personal accounts into a tribute to 'everyday entrepreneurs'. Collins' writing earned her the MartinArts Council 2023 Award in the Literary Arts. She spends her time writing and running a family business alongside her eldest son. She does both from her family home in upstate New York and Hutchinson Island in Florida.Clark, Elizabeth: - Elizabeth Clark has authored a wide variety of academic manuscripts and research publications, but this is the first book she has co-authored (Elizabeth Clark (0000-0003-4312-1198)-ORCID). Dr. Clark is a full Professor in a Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in Orlando, Florida, where she educates her future colleagues in areas of her clinical expertise and board certification-including Neurology and Executive Leadership. At the time of this publication, Dr. Clark is simultaneously developing her first children's book, based upon the lived experience of her son, diagnosed with autism. Her goal is to promote inclusive actions and behaviors in young readers, and maybe create a ripple effect of kindness through her words and her collaborator's illustrations in Colby's Code. When not reading, writing, or teaching, Elizabeth spends her time with her teenage son exploring the globe! Their goal is always to work hard, but play harder.
