The Twilight Saga was a phenomenal hit in the early 2000s. It swept the world during the "supernatural" phase of the young adult genre and it was an instant hit with teenage girls in particular. This series consists of four books in the order of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. They were also followed by two other companion works as well as a novella by the American creator of the series, Stephenie Meyer.

The main character Isabella Swan, better known as Bella, moves to the sleepy and rainy town of Forks in Washington. She moves there all the way from Arizona to stay with her dad. And she ends up falling in love with a permanently teenage-looking vampire called Edward Cullen, who's 104 years old. The love story between this supernatural creature and an ordinary human girl was what drove Twilight to become such a huge success.

The book series gained an immense following in the category of teen fiction. It has a huge movie franchise, won several awards, and impacted the 'vampire' supernatural fiction once and for all.
