Jacob A. Dickerson is an associate professor of communication at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, and teaches courses in media studies and production. He received his PhD from North Carolina State University in 2012 and has published work on the connection between place and identity, the use of popular music in the classroom, and gender in country music.
