The Street Level and Musicworks family of labels unique sound was birthed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, mixed in New York and transplanted to Montreal, Canada. The tracks recorded in the 80's at the legendary Sigma and Alpha Sound Studios in Philadelphia featured the cream of the crop of Philly's funk pioneers. Featured here is the original 1988 single, "Open Up Your Heart" by Theryl de Clouet, who would later become front man for the great New Orleans funk outfit, Galactic. Produced by the legendary Philly soul team of Alan Felder and Joe Freeman. Includes bonus instrumental. Newly remastered.
