About the Author
Michael Jaquish is a former police chief and director of security for US Embassy operations in West Africa with degrees in Criminal Justice and Business Administration. He is also a journalist and the author of over fifteen other books including: The Washington State Bail Bond Recovery Agent Exam Study Manual, The Washington State Certified Guard Trainer Study Manual and Beyond Courage (Tales of a Country Cop in Africa). After retiring from law enforcement administration in 1989 Michael traveled to West Africa where he spent the next eight years conducting security and Intel operations during three civil wars in Gambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone for the US Embassy, NASA, USAID, Voice of America, United Nations, European Union and a variety of other government and private companies. He returned to the United States in 1997 and began working as a private consultant conducting firearms and street survival training for the security industry. He has worked as a security manager and trainer for Wackenhut International and provided firearms and street survival training for BRINK'S, Incorporated, Blackwater USA and various fugitive recovery operations. Since the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001, Michael has been deeply committed to raising the bar for professionalism within the private security industry.
