He authored numerous plastic surgery articles and is a past President of the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons. He received a Jefferson Award for Public Service award in Washington, D.C. 1998, presented by Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. He received the first Distinguished Surgeon Award of the Association of Operating Room Nurses of Greater Houston in 1998 at a dinner celebration with President George W, Bush.
