The Best of Choeofpleirn Press showcases the winners and finalists of our five creative contests--the Ben Nyberg Fiction Contest, the Phil Heldrich Nonfiction Contest, the Susan Hansell Drama Contest, the Derick Burleson Poetry Contest, and the Mary Cassat Art Contest. All of the works were previously published in one of our other annual magazines: Coneflower Cafe, Spring 2023; Glacial Hills Review, Summer 2023; and Rushing Thru the Dark, Autumn 2023.


First place winners included Henry Alley's short story, "After the Fire," Louise Kantro's personal essay, "The Afghan Throw," Alex Barr's powerful one-act play, Armor, Suzanna C. de Baca's poem, "I Forgot There Were Stars," and Mark Clarke's stunning black and white photo,"Old House."
