Songs of Longing

Songs of Longing is the result of composer Felipe Tellez's intense work with TakeFive Ensemble. This recording features compositions that fuse Colombian folk music with Romantic era musical traditions of the West. Felipe's work possesses a wide range of emotions and style, moody and tender at times, and intensely rhythmic and playful when least expected. The music is brought to life by TakeFive Ensemble - comprised of violinists Lynn Kuo and Csaba Koczó, Carolyn Blackwell on viola, Emmanuelle Beaulieu Bergeron on cello, and Shoshana Telner on piano.
