The year '84 brought Holmes & Watson several interesting cases but none quite as recherché and exotic as the shocking business surrounding the disappearance of one of London's brightest young beau's, Mr. Henry Fyldene the Younger. The Fyldene's were an ancient family whose cadet lines had come down with the spellings of Fielding and Feldon. The young man's father, Henry Fyldene the Elder, was a well-known member of the Diplomatic Corp with a long and illustrious career centered upon Ottoman Arabia. He had chosen to work through the police toward the recovery of his missing son. The young man's mother, Elizabeth Fyldene, was one of the Osborne's of Darlington, a leading family closely related to Her Majesty, Queen Victoria. Elizabeth Fyldene had traveled widely with her parents even before her marriage and was a gifted linguist said to be fluent in Hindi, Farsi, and Arabic. Her collection of Middle Eastern artifacts one of the most extensive private assemblage's in the country. It was this remarkable woman who called quietly at 221B Baker Street on a blustery November day to put her son's situation before Mr. Sherlock Holmes.
"I can think of no reason for it Mr. Holmes," she'd pronounced.
With those few words Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson were introduced to a case unlike any other in the long chronicle of their years together. Once again they find themselves in the heart of a mystery and this time it stretches back nearly three decades, from London all the way to the deserts of Ottoman-controlled Arabia. The game is afoot and only Sherlock Holmes stands a chance of unraveling the mystery.
