In the clip, Rogers plays an unfinished recording of 'Alaska' and the song earned a slew of media attention. Spin declares the song "blends folk, electronic, and pop music sensibilities to form an entirely new hybridized sound", while Paste calls it "hauntingly beautiful". The Los Angeles Times said it has "the lilting vocal inflections of a country song and the depth of a poem".
