Offered by Frémeaux & Associés and Forêts et Campagnes d'Avenir, in partnership with the LPO (Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux), this 4-CD boxed set brings together the sounds of European birds captured and recorded by audionaturalist Jean C. Roché, which are the closest to human monophonic music, right up to contemporary classical music. These songs reflect an incredible variety of melodies, rhythms and timbres, which, like the proto-languages of primates, can be considered the proto-music of mankind. An interview CD, recorded by Bernard Fort, founder of the GMVL, completes this collection. Jean C.
