Probably the most successful R&B crossover artist of the 1950's, bluesman Jimmy Reed's hypnotic guitar patterns, wailing harmonica and laid back singing style endeared him to a more mainstream audience than previous blues greats. One of the first electric blues artists, Reed was a main inspiration for early rock n' rollers and influenced a wide range of artists from the Beatles to the Rolling Stones.
