A diagnosis does not always lead to a delivery, but it always gives direction - and that, my friend, is the delivery.
You are the delivery.
Awareness of yourself - and of the many ways you can tend to your inner vision - can carry you into the next chapters of your life with a fuller heart and a gentler gaze toward yourself and others.
In these pages, I share a fragment of my story: a movement from a body and life shaped by injury and despair, toward a lighter, freer version of the human I have become over years and decades of healing in God's hands. What follows is not a straight line. It is cyclical, tender, resistant, and real.
The stones that had once piled themselves upon my body and my soul are carefully lifted here, one by one, leaving none of their weight behind. They are no longer mine to carry daily. They are no longer yours to carry either.
Come - let us toss them together across the waters of our lives.
Stone by stone.
And celebrate who we are, and who we are becoming.
Travel with me through the fluctuations of hope and despair, the back-and-forth, the breaking and the rebuilding. We are fickle, yes - but we are also big-hearted, space-taking, joy-spreading, laughter-glowing, dream-making humans.
We are allowed to be all these things - especially while healing.
The poems that follow begin in the weight of survival and move, piece by piece, toward lightness and freedom.
Come. Continue to heal with me.
"By the tender mercy of our God,
The dawn from on high will break upon us,
To give light to those who sit in darkness and in the
Shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace."
Luke 1:78-79
