About the Author
Hanley, Tom: - [We umed and ared about that, after speaking to Tom, he considers the print book version itself may not need a bio. we also tend to agree. And as such not required for this book.] T.R.Hanley was born in in Sydney in the year 2006. and is now a Y8 student day boy at The Kings School, North Parramatta, NSW. Like most children, there is a fascination with the living environment, in this case penguins. This is his first children's literature book as an author and illustrator. His school is home to many boarding students from remote Australia and overseas. Pango the penguin crept into his story of life at boarding school. He has found pleasure and satisfaction in setting those thought down in words and illustrations. The book is originally based on a school formative task and is now being used as a template by teachers to inspire other like-minded students in their journey into literacy and illustration. Although imaginative, he thinks there is truth in his story of perseverance, resilience and that finding friendship can lead one to overcome the difficulty and loneliness experienced by students when starting a school life away from home and family.
