In 1981, unsuspecting NYC cabby Gabriel Brosa comes face to face with a mystery from his past. The revelation about his grade-school crush, Mandy, upends his life and sets him on a journey of self-discovery. Caught up in the choices he could have made with Mandy and memories of his college lover, Jennifer, Gabriel struggles to extricate himself from the grip of a haunting past. He is paralyzed by his own obsessive recollections, which soon threaten to destroy a budding romance with the beautiful, widowed Helene Hansen.

Fellow cabby Sal's real-world outlook promises to set Gabriel free, but as Sal plunges into a search for a missing woman, his recklessness in the face of New York's criminal underworld could end in tragedy.

Paint It Yellow explores the complexity of psychological experience, the power of love, and how the past can both consume and liberate us.

About the Author
López, Andrés G.: - Andrés G. López was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States with his family when he was seven years old. He was raised in Queens, New York and attended both public and parochial schools. By ninth grade, he was fascinated with novels by Golding, Steinbeck, and Asimov and started publishing stories in his high school newspaper, The Crescent Tower. His passion for literature only grew. López holds a PhD in English Literature from Stony Brook University. He has taught college composition, literature, and creative writing for thirty-four years and is a published Brontё scholar. Currently, he is a tenured Humanities professor at SUNY Morrisville. Paint It Yellow is his first novel.
