It is equally loop based, programmed, structured, and free-form. Don't let this throw you off, however. It is not conceptual, avant-garde, unlistenable experimentation. Null Objct's music is rhythmic, yet atmospheric. His style has been compared to DJ Shadow, Tortoise, Crystal Method, Sonic Youth, and Radiohead.
