Metanoia

?Composer Mark Nowakowski returns with a powerful and compelling sophomore effort in "Metanoia." His 2017 NAXOS premiere album, Blood Forgotten, saw Nowakowski praised by Gramophone magazine for his "bold and empathetic art." Metanoia certainly continues this theme, containing chamber, vocal, and choral works which tell the story of deep personal struggle and transformation, a fitting commentary on our tumultuous times. Featuring a rich international cast of performers, it begins with the searing title track (scored for cello octet), proceeds through a selection of recordings representing highlights from the composer's career up to this point, and concludes with the hauntingly meditative Bogurodzica: Meditation for cello duo and electronics.
