For years, Kathleen wanted to write children's books. Kathleen was first introduced to ASL after attending a retreat. She was instantly hooked. Soon after, she learned that American Sign Language is a beautiful, powerful language that felt almost magical.Starting with a few signing classes, she went on to earn a B.A. degree in Deaf Community Studies from Madonna University. Since then, she has witnessed the same magical experience in children learning to sign. With the ability to tell a story using ASL, their faces light up!Years of experience as a special education sign language supporter have kindled her passion for helping children reach their educational potential, for families to build relationships with full language access. Kathleen is delighted to help fill the need for picture books illustrated in American Sign Language.
