Susan Petty was raised in Wisconsin and has lived in Norway, Singapore and London, and now lives in Houston, Texas. She studied and worked as a geologist - but threw it all away for graphic design and calligraphy - and went on to receive my diploma in Typographic Design from the London College of Printing. She started creative gift wrapping about 20 years ago when her children would start an art project, lose interest after 5 minutes, and leave behind pots of paint. She couldn't stand seeing it all go to waste so, she started to paint scraps or paper and use them for wrapping gifts. She started her website, wrapism.com, as a way to display her huge backlog of giftwrapping pictures taken over the years. She then decided to create a book to share the many wrapping techniques she's learned over the years.
