There is a spirit of adventure in every one of us. We lose that spark as we get older. Studies, career, job, family, parents, societal expectations - the list is endless. We invariably get into a cycle of "Let me plan for this some other time,"; a time that never seems to come.
I was stuck in a similar cycle where my career and family were taking a lot of my time where I had buried my adventurous spirit for a long time. It was not until I had the opportunity to spend time with and observe a few people who really knew how to live in the moment and soak up everything life has to offer. Not that they did not have responsibilities and priorities like everyone else - they made nurturing their adventurous spirit a focus.
That was when I decided to embark on my adventure, too - my love for trekking and climbing. In 2019, I went on my first Himalayan adventure to the Everest Base Camp. As they say, the mountain has a way of luring you back - lo and behold, I was back in 2021 with a different journey to a higher mountain - Mera Peak. "Mera" in Hindi quite literally translates to "My." In some sense, it was My peak that I had chosen to climb and hence the title "Mera Trek, Mera Peak." You could translate it as "My trek, Mera Peak" OR "My trek, My Peak."
