Gene Hays is an author, historian and freelance writer. He has written several articles in local newspapers and magazines as well as "Lifezette" and the "Medal of Honor Magazine." Gene was awarded a research grant in 2014 from the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation to write a history of "The Marine Corps Combined Action Program in the Vietnam War," as part of the 50th Commemorative Series on the Vietnam War.
