The idea of MCM is that each capital of the Modern brings an original version of modernity in architecture: in the specific Milanese case, this kind of Modern is characterized by the simultaneous presence of abstract, systematic and syntactic features and an ontological conception of both buildings and architectural and urban voids.

Esposti, Lorenzo Degli: - Lorenzo Degli Esposti graduated with a degree in architecture in 2002 and earned a PhD in Architecture and Urban Design in 2008 at the Politecnico di Milano. He has been teaching architecture and urban design at the Politecnico di Milano, the Università degli Studi di Genova and within the Athens Programme. His architectural research, developed with Paolo Lazza and Francesco Degli Esposti in their firm Degli Esposti Architetti and with the collective AUFO, focuses on composition and syntax and on the study of architectural precedents, from the Renaissance to the Modern Movement.
