Guitar: Great Argentinean Composers

The portelo label Acqua Records has provided Fremeaux & Associates with this program of arrangements for solo guitar devoted to four superstars of 20th century Argentinean popular music: Abel Fleury, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Astor Piazzolla and Eduardo Fale. These four composers have varying styles, but all share a common desire to express the popular musical soul of Argentina. This four disc boxed set covers an immense range of Argentinean folk music, from the mountain peaks in Salta to the vast plains of the Pampas - milonga, zamba, chacarera, vidala - here played by masters of the guitar Carlos Martinez and Maximo Pujol.
