This book can also be a helpful resource for local health directors, county attorneys, county commissioners, county managers, and others working in public health. Among other topics, this book includes an overview of the governmental public health system, differences in local public health organizational and governance models, the legal powers and duties of local boards of health in North Carolina, the services and programs delivered by local health departments, and the role of the local health director.
