Children are not immune to the hardships of life so they need books that include serious subjects. Even when the writer does not have all the answers, books help show kids how other people have dealt with life's pitfalls. And the fact that we as humans do not have to face our problems alone gives reassurance. Children that read books with the message of faith in a caring God are especially blessed.
