Bill Kenny is forever linked with the Ink Spots. Although not a founding member, winning his spot in the group after a competition to find a replacement for his predecessor, his high lead tenor became their trademark and even the spoken bass section featured in their most successful recordings was his idea. His solo recordings began whilst the group were still active and he achieved his first Hit with "It's No Secret" in 1950. As the original members of the group stepped away, Kenny continued to release recordings as The Ink Spots (featuring Bill Kenny) or Bill Kenny (Of the Ink Spots), eventually settling with Bill 'Mr Ink Spot' Kenny. This collection brings together the best of the recordings he made for Decca, 'X', Vik, Warwick and Mercury, the majority of which have been unavailable since the 1960's. Many of these are extremely rare and collectable and feature Gospel songs, soulful originals and re-workings of Ink Spots hits. This is the first comprehensive overview of his solo catalogue ever issued.
