Award-winning classical guitarist David Ferrara recently released his first solo CD, Songs Without Words. Mr. Ferrara has twice been the recipient of a Master Artist's Fellowship from Dayton's Culture Works, in 1998 and again in 2002, both times edging out more well-known artists in the running. He holds a B.M. in guitar performance from CCM at the University of Cincinnati and a M.M. in guitar from Southern Methodist University. He attended both schools under full scholarship, and perfomed in many masterclasses, including those of Carlos Barbosa-Lima, Pepe Romero, Norbert Kraft, and others. He won several national competitions while a student. Mr. Ferrara has performed concerts in Dayton, Cincinnati, Dallas, Indianapolis, Ft. Worth, Lexington, Evansville, among others, and has performed live on several radio stations. He has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic, Miami Valley Symphony, Kim Kelly Orchestra, and since 1995 has been lead guitarist for Funk Allegiance.
