Nadine M. Aktan, PhD, APN-BC, received her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in nursing from Rutgers University College of Nursing and Graduate School in New Brunswick and Newark, New Jersey. Having served as the chairperson of nursing at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, Dr. Aktan is currently professor of nursing focusing on teaching community health to future nurses and adult health and family practice to nurse practitioner students. She also practices as a family nurse practitioner at the Immedicenter, a primary care/urgent care/family practice with locations in Clifton, Bloomfield, and Totowa, New Jersey, and as a maternal-child and adult community health nurse for Valley Home Care in Paramus, New Jersey.
