Bridgman, this public domain work originally published in 1890 lists every military and naval engagement (except the smallest skirmishes), the secession conventions, presidential nominations, calls for troops, peace negotiations, important army movements, and other events of interest that occurred between President Lincoln's nomination in 1860 to the capture of the last Confederate privateer in November 1865.
