It is written to be humorous and casual. The author, Dr. Bastidas, is a pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon based in New York. He wrote this book to help families speak openly about clefts and to comprehend the timeline and events required to treat cleft lip and palate. 100% of the proceeds are used to fund the Saving Faces Foundation (a 501c3 organization dedicated to treating children with visible birth anomalies).
