Beneath All the Screams
Have you played the game of hide-and-seek? You know, the one where their sole purpose is getting you, and it feels like you're being hunted down. One thing I used to love was a rainy day, but today turns out to be one of the worst days of my life as the rain starts coming down on my face and I'm walking through the dark woods. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I stop immediately mid-step. I turn around to see my best friend, Shawna, telling me to hush. "You're making too much noise. You're being too loud."
I quietly whisper, "I'm sorry."
Shawna says, "It's fine," but by the look on her face, I can tell it's not.
I really don't understand why Shawna is so worried, but I soon find out. As we're walking in the dark woods, trying to find the closest road to get out of here, I start thinking, How in the hell are we gonna get out of here? Then I hear the unmistakable footsteps on branches-snap, snap. I know it's not me or Shawna because we currently took a break to sit behind this big tree. Then again, I hear the unmistakable footsteps on branches. Holding our breath, we sit and listen. I can hear them getting closer and closer by the footsteps. I can't help but think, We're not getting out of here alive tonight. The next thing I hear is someone saying, "I know you're out there. You can't get far in these woods." Then someone starts shooting-bang, bang. With that, it confirms my worst fears.
The next thing I hear is Shawna screaming, "Run, run!"
The Revenge
Yes, I did everything they said I did, and it's up to you to find out what that was. But whatever I did, I did it for a good reason.
