A Guide for Teaching Violin to Very Young Children is designed as an alternate approach to teaching violin to children as young as 4 years old. It is unique in two ways: 1. The student learns to READ the notes as a fingering, before any PLAYING takes place. 2. The initial key introduced is F MAJOR, beginning with the first finger at the nut. With this pattern, 1 2 34, the fingers fall into a more natural position for the small hand.
